On the Windward side of Oahu, Christian Education Institute serves the educational needs of those who want a flexible, high quality education.
Christian Education Institute is a comprehensive, private elementary, middle, and four-year high school enrolling up to 300 students in grades K through 12. The school opened in the fall of 1991. Christian Education Institute is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.
Christian Education Institute’s academic program is based upon Hawaii State graduation requirements: 4 credits in English, 4 credits in social studies, minimum of 3 in math, minimum of 3 in science, 1 credit each in Physical Education and Health and Guidance, 6 elective credits in various disciplines, 2 consecutive electives in foreign language, fine arts, or technical skills, plus 4 credits in Bible.
Each course is evaluated according to Hawaii State graduation standards for 67 minimum hours per semester with documentation (usually monthly and/or on a report card) of media and texts used, work required, activities performed and percentage scores submitted to CEI for our files, before being accepted and placed on our transcript.
Christian Education Institute does not offer AP (Advanced Placement) courses as our junior and senior students regularly enroll in freshman and specialty courses at local community colleges, simultaneously earning high school and college credit.
